Undie Market Radar - A Great Research Tool

Yikes!! Where has December gone?...

Like most of you the last 2 weeks have been hectic for me, with Christmas Shopping, parties, etc. Anyway I hope you all had a great time and are looking forward to the New Year...

In the early part of the month I came across a great tool which some of you may know already...

It's a free software tool that I think will be of major help to people when doing research.

From within the tool you can put in a keyword... get the results from the major search engines... including Google Groups... ask a question... find related articles, images, videos and audio... reference to Encyclopedias, news, Amazon, Ebay and related blogs

You can isolate PPC links and software all relating to the keyword(s) you put in.

You can look for products, places, people, companies, etc...

I've only played with this for a couple of weeks and I think it's pretty damn awesome.

I've only scratched the surface as well... the only deficiency (if that's the right word) I've found so far is there is no link to Google Trends...

Like I said... no substitute for good old honest research but the possibilities for the usefulness of this tool are endless... It gives Alexa rankings, related sites, links...

The Campaign Research Begins

OK, I am about to start resarch on a new campaign (or campaigns) and it's important to start off with a methodical approach.

So, do I rush off to Clickbank or Commission Juction and find the latest, best converting product and then look for ways to promote it?

No... the best approach is to first, find a hungry niche, with money to spend who have a burning need or desire and then look for ways to satisfy that need.

So where to start...

A great place to start is magazines.com and amazon.com. Not to find products to promote or books to sell but to find out what people are interested in. What are the top non-fiction books, best selling magazines, etc. This reveals a broad group of people who have an interest in a particular topic, say Men's Health or Cooking.

Another good place to try is meetup.com.

I will make a list of the top 10 from each as a starting point and from there try to drill down to more specific sub-niches...

It's important at this stage to keep an open mind and not be concerned as to whether or not there will be a suitable product. At this stage indentifying the niche is the key.
